    About the Training Course
The People Handling Course is a completely tailored, face to face training. Based on your needs, the training will be completed over one or two days, with one day for simple handling and two days for complex handling.

    The course often includes:

    • Understanding the child, young person’s or patient’s needs
    • Consideration of any choices the patient may have made about how they wish to be moved
    • Best practice handling and moving techniques
    • Guidance on specialist handling equipment to be used including hoists
    • What checks need to take place and more…

The final course content is tailored to your organisations and care teams needs at the time.

What certification will I receive at the end of the training?
The course is accredited to IOSH standards, so all attendees will receive an IOSH certificate at the end of the training.

The course has been specifically designed to provide carers with the skills and knowledge required to deliver manual handling training to their own staff and is therefore ideal for those wishing to deliver a high standard of Manual Handling training to others. With this approach you can complete training with other teams using the information and practical guidance you’ve obtained from the training day.

How many delegates can attend the training course?
Our training is totally bespoke. We can train on a one-to-one basis as well as providing group training.

With group training, we ensure highest quality training by limiting group numbers to five people only.

How often do I need to complete the training?
We recommend refresher courses every three years. Of course, if legislation changes or your organisations needs change due to staff changes then a more regular training schedule may be needed.

Where does the training take place?
PMAN Consulting generally hires a training room close to where your care workers and staff are based for your convenience.

    Maureen Richardson

    Regional Director, Operations

I have known the Managing Director  for over 12 years where we worked together in a care organisation focussing on clients with learning disability, brain injury and high level risk management needs. There was a notable Person Centred focus on the way risk assessment and management plans were designed and delivered on. In terms of cost I would say that there is definitely value for money in what is offered. They are a very high quality, cost effective organisation that I use regularly for my health and safety needs in the workplace and have no hesitation in recommending PMAN Consulting to you.
